POSITION: Warehouse Lead
LOCATION: Jupiter, FL/Stuart FL.
STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating and supporting daily warehouse activities at the Jupiter, Florida facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient material handling while supporting the transition from Maersk operations and maintaining alignment with PSM standards. The Lead acts as the on-site point of contact for shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination, ensuring compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Essential duties & responsibilities
The essential functions of the job include the following:
- Coordinate daily shipping, receiving, and material movement within the Jupiter warehouse.
- Ensure all materials are handled, stored, and documented accurately and safely.
- Support the Warehouse Manager by maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant facility, aligned with safety and audit standards.
- Oversee daily task assignments and workload balance among warehouse staff and temporary labor.
- Perform and verify goods receipts, transfers, and shipments using SAP and eWMS systems.
- Ensure real-time accuracy of RF scan transactions and bin movements.
- Support cycle counts, audits, and material traceability reporting.
- Escalate inventory discrepancies or quality issues promptly to the Warehouse Manager.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform and document daily equipment inspections, report maintenance issues immediately.
- Enforce PPE use, safe driving, and traffic management policies within the facility.
- Participate in and promote a safety-first culture through daily checks and monthly meetings.
- Customer & Cross-Functional Support
- Serve as the primary Jupiter site contact for Production, Planning, Quality, and Logistics teams.
- Communicate shipment and receiving updates to internal stakeholders and Maersk partners.
- Support domestic and international transportation coordination, ensuring compliance with U.S. and global trade regulations.
- Assist with customer audits and provide accurate warehouse documentation when requested.
- Track and report daily warehouse activity metrics (receipts, shipments, inventory accuracy).
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Support employee training and cross-functional development initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Training
- Minimum 23 years of warehouse or logistics experience, with at least 1 year in a lead or team coordination role.
- Experience using SAP/eWMS or similar systems required.
- Prior forklift certification and RF scanning experience required.
Skills/Experience
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory control.
- Experience with SAP, eWMS, and RF scanning systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; able to coordinate priorities independently.
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills to support cross-training and shift coverage.
- Strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Forklift operation certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Climbing -- ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Balancing -- maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
- Stooping/Crouching -- bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- Kneeling -- bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
- Reaching -- extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing -- particularly for sustained periods of time
- Walking -- moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Pushing & Pulling
- Lifting up to 20 lbs -- raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
- Grasping -- applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Repetitive motion -- substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
- The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
- The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- The worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
- The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
- Requires significant travel (air & ground) with short notice.
- Being able to wear required PPEs for specific tasks performed, such as respirators, Tyvek suit, gloves, face shield, etc.
