Job DescriptionRole : Unit Head - Private Coverage Advisory
Location : Abu Dhabi/Dubai
Role Purpose:
The role will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Senior Investment Advisers and Analysts to provide advisory services to the bank's Private Coverage Team .
This role involves collaborating with front line teams across Private Coverage team , ensuring the suitability of investment products, conducting regular portfolio reviews, and providing rebalancing recommendations based on the client's risk appetite and time horizon. Drive sales quality and client satisfaction while maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements.
Act as the Subject Matter Expert to support investment solutions and build model portfolios that align with the bank's strategy, provide timely market insights, and position the firm as a thought leader in the investment space.
Key Accountabilities of the role
- Client Portfolio Management & Reviews:
- Oversee the review and governance of client investment portfolios, ensuring that periodic reviews are conducted and documented to align with clients' risk profiles and objectives.
- Provide guidance on wealth products, asset allocation, and investment strategies to support front line teams across Private/Wealth ensuring alignment with clients' long-term goals.
- Recommend portfolio rebalancing strategies where necessary to ensure client portfolios remain in line with their evolving goals and market conditions.
- Oversee the analysis and adjustments of model portfolios, ensuring that the solutions are aligned with clients' preferences and risk appetites.
- Advise Relationship Managers on investment opportunities, client needs, and portfolio adjustments, based on market conditions and client profiles
- Sales Support & Client Relationship Management:
- Support Advisors and Private Bankers in managing and signing up NTW clients to support growth of UHNW client portfolios.
- Provide expert guidance on asset allocation, investment strategies, and risk management, ensuring that investment products are aligned with client objectives, risk tolerance, and time horizon.
- Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring that investment advisers are well-equipped with the latest market knowledge, investment products, and tools.
- Ensure that investment advisers meet or exceed penetration, revenue, wealth AUM growth targets while maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction.
- Monitor client feedback and resolve any client-related issues promptly to maintain a high standard of service.
- Model Portfolios & Advisory Expertise:
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on model portfolios, advising on their construction, suitability, and ongoing management.
- Stay current with market trends, investment products, and regulatory changes to maintain expertise and ensure the team provides up-to-date advice to clients.
- Portfolio Management:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that discretionary services are effectively delivered to clients, adhering to their specific investment goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon.
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage a team of Investment Advisors to provide high-level investment advisory support.
- Ensure the team maintains the highest standards in client interactions and that sales quality is upheld through proper investment suitability, subscriptions, and redemptions.
- Foster a collaborative environment, ensuring that the team stays aligned with the bank's investment strategy and client-centric focus.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development plans for team members.
- Ensure the team adheres to regulatory requirements.
- Engagement with stakeholders:
- Collaborate with the ADIB Capital team to develop tailored investment solutions, offering market insights, and keeping the bank's offerings aligned with client demand and market trends.
- Act as the subject matter expert on all investment-related matters, providing guidance to the team and clients.
- Market Updates and Outlook:
- Provide regular, in-depth market updates and outlooks to clients and internal teams, keeping all stakeholders informed of market trends, economic conditions, and investment opportunities.
- Front-Line Team sessions:
- Host and facilitate informative sessions with the front-line teams, ensuring they have up-to-date knowledge and insights on investment products and strategies to enhance client service.
- Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure that investment strategies and recommendations comply with relevant regulations and the bank's internal governance framework.
- Monitor sales processes to ensure adherence to suitability and compliance requirements, avoiding conflicts of interest.
- Training & Development:
- Provide Private Bankers with ongoing product training, market updates, and investment strategy guidance to enhance their ability to support clients effectively.
- Regularly provide market insights, corporate actions summaries, and product updates to ensure the RMs are well-informed and can deliver appropriate solutions to clients.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
- In-depth knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and wealth management strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and market trends.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing a high-performing team.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, particularly in the wealth management space, and a commitment to adhering to all relevant compliance standards.
- Experience with discretionary portfolio management services is a plus,
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (advanced degrees or professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, FRM or similar preferred).
