Job Description
Seeking a Quantitative Research Systems Analyst to join an eight-person Quantitative Research team. This role leverages our current customized object-oriented database and language (Vision-DBMS), while incorporating modern technologies to support investment research and portfolio management. The position requires working full-time from the office to support close collaboration with the investment management teams.
Primary responsibilities
Maintain accurate data for our proprietary equity investment database.
Design to expand and enhance database structure for new data sets.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system and data-related issues as they arise.
Serve as a backup for database and web administrative responsibilities, ensuring continuity of operations when needed.
Ability to take on both business/systems analyst and implementation responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Enhance and expand internal website functionality using modern web technologies.
Collaborate with information security team to identify and remediate software vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
2-5 years of professional experience is required, with strong preference for the Finance industry.
Computer science or data science degree required.
Knowledge of investment-related concepts and practices is strongly preferred.
Must be eager and adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and financial concepts through mentorship or independent study.
Experience working with object-oriented concepts and object-oriented databases is strongly preferred.
CFA charter holder or candidate is a plus.
Technical skills
Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL) is required.
Proficiency in Windows environments, including hands-on experience with Windows servers is required.
Vision-DBMS programming experience is highly valued.
Strong expertise in C++ templates and Microsoft Visual Studio is a significant plus.
Exposure to web and scripting technologies (HTML, XSLT, CSS, XML, Classic ASP, Java, Perl, VBA) preferred.
