Description
OverviewPosition Concept
Under the direction of the Director of Golf or General Manager, the Head Golf Professional will oversee and manage all aspects of the golf operation and work cooperatively with other departments throughout the Club. The position is responsible for promoting an exceptional "golf experience" for members and guests and providing excellent service, leadership, and innovative programs that enhance the Club's golf culture and reputation.
Experience Required
Must have 5 plus years experience as a PGA Professional or Lead Assistant experience and responsibilities comprable to the Essential Responsibilities of the Twin Hills PGA Head Golf Professional
Essential Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all golf staff, including assistant professionals, teaching professionals, outside operations staff, mechanics, starters, and rangers.
- Implement operational policies and procedures and conduct regular staff meetings.
- Oversee all golf services, programs, and daily operations.
- Manage the usage, maintenance, and inventory of golf cars.
- Supervise the tee time reservation system, starting operations, and pace-of-play monitoring.
- Track and verify all member and guest activities, including golf car usage, club care, handicap fees, merchandise purchases, and other applicable charges, ensuring proper controls are maintained.
- Administer and manage the club's handicap program.
- Enforce all rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course and related facilities.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive tournament program serving all member segments.
- Lead the design and implementation of golf instruction and player development programs for men, women, juniors, and beginners.
- Oversee the operations and quality of the practice facility.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and all other department heads to ensure consistent service and communication.
- Assist with marketing and promotion of all club golf and social activities.
- Maintain and oversee a merchandise concession that reflects member demographics, interests, and purchasing patterns.
- Establish and monitor goals, forecasts, and reports for all golf programs and services.
- Oversee all purchasing, budgeting, and fiscal management for golf operations.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard assets, inventories, and resources.
- Approve all golf staff time sheets, payroll, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Supervise merchandise displays, inventories, and sales strategies to maximize profitability and service.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for golf operations.
- Maintain operational policies, procedures, and fee structures aligned with Club goals and member expectations.
