About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Investment Intern to join our team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in assisting the Portfolio Manager(s) with underwriting of real estate fund investments, specifically with market and sector reports, and working on financial analysis. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and financial modeling skills, and is eager to learn about the real estate investment process, market trends, and portfolio management.
Investment Analysis
- Assist in evaluating potential real estate investment opportunities
- Prepare financial models, including cash flow projections, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
- Assist with collection and preparation of performance indicators and reports for management's review.
- Organise the department's investment pipeline database.
Market Research
- Research and analyze local and regional real estate markets, including demographic and economic trends.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in real estate investment, finance, and market analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Learning Outcome
- Put learning into practice by completing a proposal for a real estate fund investment.
- Develop an understanding of fund management business, particularly the thought processes behind portfolio construction and fund investing.
- Enhance financial modelling skills through preparation of financial models in evaluating investment opportunities.
