Description
OverviewTPC Prestancia, one of 31 PGA Tour properties in the world and one of 43 Heritage Golf Group owned properties, is 36 holes of world-class golf located in Sarasota, Florida. It is a fully private facility with golf as the primary amenity, with the new addition of our athletic club. This is a year-round, full-time hourly position with full benefits offered through the Heritage Golf Group.
We are looking for a highly motivated Class A Professional in good standing looking to be a key member of our operation and assist in managing an operation of 40+ golf employees. This position will require a highly skilled and dynamic individual with extensive golf knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent customer service.
Experience Required
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to perform each essential duty in a professional manner with a positive attitude. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- PGA or LPGA Member in good standing
- 4+ years of Golf Operations experience. Prior 36-hole Private Club experience preferred
- Tournament Operations experience, including knowledge and use of Golf Genius tournament software
- Strong skill set in Word, Excel, Outlook, Google, tee time software and POS software required. TPC Prestancia currently uses MembersFirst and JONAS.
- Strong organizational skills: ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
- A passion for growing the game of golf
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and early mornings.
- Bachelor's degree
Essential Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Golf Operations:
- Oversee daily golf operations, ensuring smooth functionality and a superior Member experience.
- Manage Golf Shop and Professional staff, ensuring excellent service, effective merchandising, and efficient operations.
- Maintain inventory of golf equipment, apparel, and accessories. Collaborate with vendors to maintain competitive pricing and quality products.
- Ensure that all golf course policies and procedures are adhered to by Members and their Guests.
- Lead the club's golf instruction program, including private lessons, group clinics, and junior programs.
- Develop and implement coaching techniques to improve members' golfing abilities, with a focus on all skill levels.
- Work with the Director of Golf to create engaging golf programs and events, including beginner and advanced golf schools, tournaments, and social outings.
- Monitor individual progress and provide tailored feedback to members to help them improve their game.
- Coordinate and manage all golf tournaments, especially Member events.
- Oversee tournament registration, scoring, and results, ensuring that events run smoothly and on schedule.
- Work with the Director of Golf to create exciting and competitive events that enhance the club's culture and engagement.
- Mentor the Assistant Professionals in Tournament Operations to help develop their skills.
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service to Members and their Guests.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with Members, responding promptly to inquiries and concerns.
- Promote a welcoming and professional atmosphere within the golf shop and surrounding facilities.
- Supervise and mentor Golf Professionals and Staff, fostering an environment of teamwork, skill development, and high performance.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to staff members.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and scheduling of golf shop staff as needed.
- Assist the Director of Golf with budgeting and financial oversight for the golf operations.
- Manage staff scheduling and payroll to ensure efficient staffing levels.
- Maintain records related to member participation, golf lessons, event registrations, and merchandise sales.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and club regulations.
