Company Overview Service Solutions AV is a premier audiovisual solutions provider serving major corporate clients throughout Seattle. With 20+ years of experience across three divisions (permanent venues, corporate events, integration), we're scaling our integration division toward $30-50M+ as part of our path to $100M ARR.
Role Summary Build our integration division from the ground up into a $30-50M+ business unit. This founding-stage leadership role requires a proven integration executive who has managed $20M-$50M+ in project volume AND is willing to operate as player-coach during the initial building phase. You'll prove expertise through hands-on execution before scaling into pure leadership.
Phase 1: Hands-On Building (Months 1-12) Year one is player-coach: personally execute while building infrastructure.
Develop division strategy, financial models, growth roadmap to $30-50M+
Own P&L, build pricing/estimating systems from scratch
Personally estimate and manage first major integration projects
Create operational playbooks, project management frameworks, quality standards
Lead business development—site walks, proposals, client meetings, close deals
Establish vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, manage procurement
Recruit and train initial team members through hands-on mentorship
Document everything as foundation for scaling
Phase 2: Scaling & Leadership (Months 12-24) Transition from "doing" to "leading" as infrastructure matures.
Oversee portfolio of 10-15 concurrent projects
Build high-performance team of 10-20+
Manage C-level strategic relationships
Drive continuous improvement of margins, efficiency, quality
Implement systems, tools, and technology platforms
Establish market leadership in target segments
Required Qualifications
15-20+ years in AV integration with progressive leadership
Proven track record managing $20M-$50M+ annual project volume
10+ years senior leadership (Director/VP) in integration
Critical: Direct experience building/scaling integration businesses from early-stage—built systems from scratch, not just maintained them
Enterprise project experience (Fortune 500, $2M-$5M+ projects)
Full P&L accountability with consistent profitability
Built high-performance teams of 20-50+ people
Startup mentality: comfortable with ambiguity, building while executing
Hands-On Building Phase Expectations You will personally:
Roll up sleeves on live projects—estimating, design reviews, managing installs, solving field problems
Build processes from ground up where they don't exist
Operate as player-coach until team is built
Work in the trenches—job sites, client meetings, vendor negotiations
Function without full support initially—build own estimates, manage documentation
Demonstrate knowledge through action, not theory
Industry Expertise (Applied, Not Theoretical)
Mastery of integration operations; can personally execute every function
Current, hands-on technical knowledge: video distribution, audio DSP, control systems, collaboration, digital signage
Expert in project financials—can build/analyze estimates yourself
Strong construction coordination experience
Proficient with AutoCAD/Revit, Bluebeam, D-Tools, PM platforms
AVIXA, TIA, BICSI standards knowledge; certifications preferred

Success Metrics First 12 Months:
Deliver 3-5 profitable integration projects
Achieve $6-8M revenue (50-100% growth)
Maintain 20-25% gross margin
Build $15-20M pipeline for year two
Recruit 2-4 key team members
Win 3-5 new strategic clients
Deploy PM, estimating, financial systems
Months 12-24:
Scale to $12-15M revenue
Improve margin to 25-30%
Build team to 10-15 people
Achieve 90%+ client retention
Successfully transition to pure leadership

Experience & Mindset
- 15-20+ years in AV integration industry with progressive leadership responsibility
- Proven track record managing $20M-$50M+ in annual project volume with consistent profitability
- 10+ years in senior leadership role (Director, VP, or equivalent) leading integration divisions
- Critical: Direct experience building or scaling integration businesses from early-stage or startup phases—we need someone who has built systems from scratch, not just inherited and maintained them
- Enterprise project experience including Fortune 500 clients and projects exceeding $2M-$5M
- Full P&L accountability with history of achieving revenue and margin targets in growth environments
- Track record building high-performance teams of 20-50+ people in integration environment
- Startup mentality: Comfortable with ambiguity, building infrastructure while executing projects, and transitioning from "doing" to "leading" as the division matures
