Interim Finance Controller - Immediate Start

Location: Wellingborough (On-site, 5 days per week)
Contract: Interim
Rate: Competitive day rate
Duration: 3-6 months (with potential extension)

We're looking for a hands-on and experienced Interim Finance Controller to step into a key leadership role at a manufacturing business based in Wellingborough. This is a fully on-site role and requires someone who can hit the ground running, provide immediate stability, and play a central role in the recruitment and handover to a permanent postholder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the finance function during a critical transition period.
• Take ownership of the month-end close, reporting, and all day-to-day finance operations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow oversight.
• Work closely with operational teams and senior leadership to maintain financial control and visibility.
• Identify and implement process improvements where needed.
• Actively support and advise on the recruitment of the permanent Finance Controller, including handover planning and onboarding.

About You:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Confident leading a finance function independently.
• Able to work at pace with a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Comfortable working full-time, on-site in Wellingborough - this is non-negotiable.
• Previous interim experience is highly desirable.
