Your new companyA leading multinational, publicly listed bank with over 20,000 employees worldwide and US$200b in assets under management. This full-service bank, focused on corporate and investment banking, is looking to add a Finance Executive or Finance Assistant Manager to its Finance team of 5 in Singapore. The Finance Executive / Assistant Manager, depending upon experience, reports to the Head of Finance, who in turn reports to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a role perfectly suited to a specialist in regulatory reporting, with sound knowledge of accounting and finance regulations in the Singapore banking industry.
Your new role
The incumbent will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of regulatory and financial reports, as well as for delivering financial information and analysis related to specific ledgers.
- Prepare and review daily ledger control reconciliation reports for Asia branches, including investigation, follow-up and proper documentation of reconciliation discrepancies.
- Support monthly financial closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and month-end intercompany reconciliation reports.
- Review accounts payables transactions (e.g., expenses and staff claims), to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations including Singapore GST and withholding tax requirements.
- Assist in internal management reporting, including the preparation of daily Profit & Loss report for Treasury and Markets.
- Prepare regulatory returns (e.g., MAS Notice 610) ensuring validation and reconciliation against the General Ledger, along with variance analysis.
What you'll need to succeed
- Diploma or Degree in Accountancy or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Finance within the banking industry.
- Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for the Assistant Manager position.
- Strong attention to detail, hands-on approach, and ability to work effectively across multiple systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
