Scope of Position
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for driving plant initiatives towards establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing EH&S programs that align with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The EH&S Manager will play a key role in fostering a safety-first culture, driving continuous improvement in EH&S performance, and ensuring alignment with the plant’s operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Collaborate with corporate EH&S teams to ensure alignment with organizational standards, policies, and initiatives.
Develop and execute short- and long-term EH&S strategies to achieve injury, illness, and environmental incident reduction goals.
Integrate EH&S management systems into the plant’s overall operational framework.
Regulatory Compliance & Policy Implementation:
Design, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
Lead facility audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
Oversee hazardous waste management, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
Manage facility environmental programs, including SWPPP, SPCC, air permitting, and Tier II reporting.
Act as the primary point of contact for EH&S matters, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and contractors.
Acquire and maintain required certifications including ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, RCRA/DOT Initial and Annual Refresher, ECC/GSS/GCC/Corporate Training (as required).
Develop, implement, and regularly update facility emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential incidents.
Provide training and guidance to employees on emergency procedures.
Assist with managing workers’ compensation cases, coordinating with medical providers, and relevant agencies.
Additional Responsibilities
Risk Management & Incident Prevention:
Identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards through risk assessments and control measures.
Oversee incident tracking, investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Conduct safety, health, and environmental risk assessments for new and existing processes or equipment.
Lead the creation and continuous improvement of EH&S programs, including safety training, emergency response plans, and environmental management systems.
Maintain EH&S performance metrics and communicate results to plant employees and corporate EH&S teams.
Drive initiatives to cultivate an interdependent safety culture and promote employee engagement and accountability.
Develop, implement, and regularly update facility emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential incidents.
Provide training and guidance to employees on emergency procedures.
Training & Employee Engagement:
Develop and oversee EH&S training programs to ensure employee awareness and compliance with regulations and internal policies.
Facilitate site EH&S Committee meetings and promote authentic collaboration in managing EH&S initiatives.

The range for this position is $86,772.00 - $119,312.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.

Requirements
Experiences/Education - Required
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or a Bachelors’ degree in a related field with 3–5 years of professional EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations and standards.
Expertise in hazard assessments, ergonomics, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with programs such as SWPPP, SPCC, Air Permitting, and NFPA codes.
Proficiency in EH&S management systems and data analysis tools.
Experiences/Education - Desired
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification
OSHA 30-hour training certification
