The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and visionary HR leader to join our Executive Senior Leadership Team (ESLT) as Director, BCRTC HR Services. In this pivotal role, you will oversee HR operations, Occupational Health & Wellness, Training, and Payroll, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and regulatory
compliance. You will serve as the primary liaison between BCRTC leadership and TransLink’s People & Culture team, driving innovation and progressive change across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic HR leadership, aligning people practices with organizational goals.
Lead attraction and retention strategies to support business needs.
Oversee exempt employee management, Occupational Health & Wellness, Training, and Payroll.
Champion employee experience, equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI), and engagement initiatives.
Collaborate with ESLT members to develop and implement HR strategies that foster belonging.
Ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC, Technical Safety BC, BC Human Rights Tribunal, and other regulatory frameworks.
Direct health and wellness programs, disability management, and respectful workplace initiatives.
Provide strategic oversight of training programs to ensure competency-based development and regulatory compliance.
Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, and performance reporting.
Lead and inspire HR teams, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of senior HR leadership experience in a complex unionized environment.
Advanced knowledge of HR functions, Occupational Health & Wellness, Training, and Payroll.
Strong understanding of legislation and governance frameworks (FOIPPA, collective agreements).
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Proven expertise in strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Experience with HR management systems is an asset.
