Description
The chief financial officer works under the supervision of the executive director and maintains accounting records in accordance with fiscal policies and procedures adopted by the CDSA board of directors, and in accordance with generally accepted accounting procedures.
Requirements
This job requires extensive accounting education or training. An accounting degree is preferred. CDSA operates multiple human service programs utilizing primarily federal funding. This requires excellent reporting processes and internal controls. The CFO is responsible for all aspects of agency finances and supervises a staff of two. Examples of duties: Prepare monthly financial statements, draw down reimbursements, prepare or review monthly, quarterly, and close out reports, maintain adequate insurance for the agency, procure bids for annual audit, assist auditors, review audit draft, and approve final audit, review fiscal policies and procedures annually, prepare cost analysis as requested, prepare grant budgets, etc.
