£60000 - £70000 + bonus + benefits

A leading international financial services group is looking to appoint a Business Risk Officer to join its Jersey-based Global Business Control function. This is a permanent role paying £60,000 - £70,000 plus bonus and benefits, offered on a hybrid working basis from St Helier.

The role

• Support the first line in embedding and maintaining a robust risk management framework across a growing international business in various jurisdictions.
• Take ownership for the ongoing maintenance of Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) and associated risk reporting for relevant regulated entities.
• Provide challenge, insight and recommendations on key and emerging risks, control effectiveness and risk culture to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and enhance risk MI, dashboards and reports for senior management and risk committees.
• Contribute to risk-related projects, including process improvement and risk technology / system initiatives.
• Partner closely with second and third line functions, as well as local business leaders, to support a strong and consistent risk culture.

Candidate profile

• Proven experience in risk management within financial services (e.g. banking, wealth / asset management, fiduciary or related sectors).
• Strong understanding of enterprise and/or operational risk, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
• Experience leading or contributing to risk technology projects or risk system implementations.
• Background in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance, Risk Management or similar; relevant risk qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., FRM, IRM, CRM, CA or equivalent)

• Base salary: £60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience) plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
