Jacobs is seeking a motivated and driven Assistant Project Manager with a passion for architecture and development to join our Buildings & Logistics unit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project aims to support the transformation of Saudi Arabia's tourism landscape by delivering exceptional design experiences rooted in innovation, luxury, and a deep connection with nature.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key supporting role in coordinating and monitoring architectural projects alongside the Project Manager. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure effective execution, adherence to timelines, and alignment with Jacobs' standards of safety, sustainability, and design excellence. This position offers strong professional growth opportunities within a dynamic and high-impact environment.
In joining Jacobs you will:
• Direct engagement with technical teams to monitor delivery as per the contracted deliverables.
• Monitor / manage finance system adopted in the project delivery along with relevant support from the Project Controls team.
• Ensure project bookings are aligned to the planned resources.
• Review deliverables against the resource schedule and program to establish performance against spend and program, to enable an accurate cost to complete to be maintained. Prepare Earned Value assessment with advice and guidance from PM / SPM.
• Have a good understanding of the contracted items that impact the design delivery of the project and keep the teams aligned to these requirements.
• Evaluate changes to Contract and assist in preparation of Variation claims, as required.
• Assist Procurement team in relation to procurement of Sub-Consultants.
• Provide inputs to Project Controls (PC) team to update the monthly program to include independent Design Reviews and internal audits.
• Evaluate invoices of the sub-consultants in line with agreed contract.
• Assist in Audit papers and Jacob's process management.
• Assist with the preparation of the Project Management Plan and monitor delivery of Jacobs services.
• Provide input into the Risk Register and review on a weekly basis with SMP/PD.
• Work shoulder to shoulder with Design Managers and report Risks on a regular basis.
Here's what you'll need
As a successful candidate you will have a BS or MS degree in Architecture or Engineering, from a recognized university, with experience on major projects. You will ideally have experience from the Middle East with 3+ years of experience in the capacity of an Assistant Project Manager. It is important that you can demonstrate a strong knowledge of control principles, with the ability to assist the project manager to work to tight deadlines. You will have client management skills and have the capacity to work with diverse teams when under pressure whilst always being commercially savvy.
