Description
As Assistant Controller, you will take ownership of the accuracy and timeliness of the company's General Ledger. In this role, you'll report directly to the VP of Finance and work closely with FP&A, Tax, and other members of the extended leadership team.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Controller to join our Finance and Accounting team. This position will support the VP of Finance in overseeing the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency
Accounting Operations: Lead a team of senior accountants to perform both daily and month-end tasks, ensuring compliance with GAAP including ASC 842, 810, 805, 606, and 326.
Take full ownership over general ledger functions, including oversight and controls of journal entry posting, balance sheet reconciliations, and other general ledger functions.
Ensure timely and accurate closing of monthly and year-end processes, including the consolidation of a global chart of accounts.
Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and support to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP
Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, providing insights for decision-making
Compliance and Audit: Support the VP of Finance in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls
Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, including preparation of required documentation
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the finance and accounting functions
Implement best practices for financial management and reporting
Participate in the financial integration of acquisitions
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Monitor spending and provide variance analysis to management
System Management: Assist in the maintenance and improvement of financial systems and reporting tools
Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure data integrity and system efficiency
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of GAAP
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, leadership capability, and a deep understanding of accounting principles
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively across departments
