Firm Description
- First Haven Capital, an affiliate of Turtle Creek Investment Advisors, is an institutional family office with several hundred million dollars under management. Founded in 2007, the firm is based in New York
- On behalf of its clients, the firm implements bespoke asset allocation strategies utilizing best-in-class fund managers, while also making targeted, value-creating private investments
- The firm invests across asset classes, including traditional long-only funds as well as alternative vehicles such as hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital
Role Responsibilities
- Build a rigorous understanding of long-only, hedge fund, and private market strategies to evaluate return/risk trade-offs
- Develop informed market and macroeconomic views to deliver concise takeaways during internal discussions
- Monitor and update investment performance, benchmarks, and peer groups
- Maintain core data infrastructure, including the CRM and portfolio analytics database
- Manage the production of weekly and monthly investment team reporting materials
- Assist with Advisory Board interactions and prepare board presentations
- Support quarterly reviews of external managers across liquid and private mandates; learn to synthesize and communicate performance drivers, risks, and positioning
- Contribute to manager underwriting, investment memos, asset allocation modeling, and co-investment workstreams
- Investigate new themes, opportunities, and technologies and articulate their implications for the portfolio
- Represent the firm externally at conferences and related events
- Pursue continual self-study through reading and independent research, sharing insights with the team
- Progress through a three-year analyst program, taking on increasing responsibility to gain cross-strategy exposure, build investment judgment, and contribute to decision-making
Desired Background
- More than two years of relevant professional experience
- Strong academic background, preferably with a degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science
- Sharp quantitative, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Curious, proactive mindset and open to working outside one’s professional comfort zone
- Team-oriented and willing to roll up their sleeves to contribute to the group’s common objectives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable adopting new technology platforms
- Knowledge of Python is a plus
- Excellent writing and communication skills
Location & Salary
- New York City or Remote opportunities available
- $100K to $150K + Discretionary Bonus
