What You Will Do
Responsible for general bookkeeping and record keeping tasks for Facilities Management, the department that maintains the campus buildings and facilities. Responsibilities include paying bills, monitoring expenses, generating bills, reviewing credit card statements, maintaining the equipment inventory and keeping records. Fast paced environment and every day is different. There are many similar positions at SIUE so there are opportunities to learn, grow and advance.
- Pay utility bills for campuses in Edwardsville, Alton and East. St. Louis
- Track utility expenses and report spending
- Create and send invoices for utilities and miscellaneous services
- Maintain equipment inventory records for department, working with many people within the department
- Track radios used by department and maintain inventory of spares
- Data entry and review of credit card purchases for the department

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
- Course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 9 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Work experience in bookkeeping, office support, or closely related experience.
- Course work in accounting, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
Knowledge and Skills
Experience paying bills, tracking costs, keeping inventories and reviewing data for accuracy. Need good math skills and experience with Excel and the ability to learn more. Experience using bookkeeping or finance software to look up information. Experience in imputing data accurately. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work as a team or independently.

SIUE is a state university, and it's important to highlight that benefits from state-sponsored plans may not be accessible to individuals on F1 or J1 visas.
